Indigenous America
From what I've learned in the unit Indigenous America, I got to rethink about the land, different laws, and teachings with animals. The land has been here for many years `and it is important to know how its change over the years. With the lands, there are many laws that are different from each other, specifically the Americas and the Indigenous. Learning about the animals has also taught me how animals connects to feelings and such.
Settler Colonialism
This Unit has taught me how America was discovered, how it was taken over, and what it means to confront hard history. America, as everyone knows was discovered by Christopher Columbus. It was later taken over by him and the rest of the his people. Learning about this can be hard, but learning from this can help our understanding about America.
American Revolution
From What I've learned from the American Revolution unit were the taxes, how the declaration of independence came to be, and more about George Washington. Taxes were used on the colonial colonies to get money back after a war. The colonial colonies then got fed up with the taxes then made the Declaration of Independence. The person who was leading this time was George Washington because he had all the good influence of the colonies.
Creating a New Country
What I've learned from this Unit is the initial constitution, the U.S constitution we have today, and the bill of rights. The initial constitution was once called the Article of Confederation. It was a bad government so they they change some things up and made the U.S Constitution was have today. With the constitution, we have received the Bill of Rights, which makes us more human than before.
Expanding the Territory of the United States
3 things that I learned from this unit consisted of the idea of Manifest Destiny, what's behind it, and how we got our borders. Manifest Destiny meant to the early Americans meant that they were given the will of god to take over the north continent. This was not only bad but racist as well because the people who lived there before them got evicted, especially the native Indians. It was not only the natives that got there land stolen, it was the Mexicans too.
